Cultural heritage

There are a number of sites identified in the EIS and EIS – Supplementary Report within the Legacy Way footprint, which appear on the Queensland Heritage Register under the Queensland Heritage Act 1992.

These include:

• Mt Coot-tha State Forest
• Toowong Cemetery
• “Baroona” – 90 Howard Street, Paddington
• St Brigid’s Church, Musgrave Road, Red Hill
• “Ithaca Embankments” (numbers 3 and 4) – Musgrave Road, Red Hill
• Gona Barracks, Kelvin Grove
• Victoria Park, Herston.

Transcity is mindful of the cultural heritage significance of these and other non-registered, yet significant, sites within the project footprint. Construction around these sites will be managed in accordance with the Cultural Heritage Management Plan which has been developed in accordance with the relevant legislation and best practice.
